Cole Custer

Driver of the No. 00 Andy’s Frozen Custard™ Ford Mustang® NASCAR® Xfinity® Series

What You May Not Know About Cole Custer:

What type of car is your daily driver?

My daily drive is a Ford F-150

What was your very first win?

I first won in a quarter midget when I was five years old. Then, I got my first win in a late model stock car when I was 14 years old at Blythe Speedway in California.

Do you have a pre-race tradition/routine/superstition?

My pre-race routine is that I always walk pit road before the race and driver introductions. I also put my shoes and gloves on right before left.

What’s your favorite paint scheme?

Obviously, the No. 00 Andy’s Frozen Custard Ford Mustang paint scheme! But as a kid, I always loved Kevin Harvick’s Goodwrench paint scheme.

Do you have a racing idol?

As a kid, I was always a big Jason Leffler fan. I loved watching him race midgets and sprint cars before going to NASCAR.

What’s your favorite track or race and why?

I would say my favorite race track was Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California. I won the NASCAR Xfinity Series race there in 2019 and beat Kyle Busch by a 1.927 second margin. That’s one of my favorite races.

What is your favorite treat at Andy’s?

Now that I have my own treat, The Frozen Custer Concrete, it’s definitely my favorite! It was fun to work with Andy himself to build my own treat. I used to love the James Brownie Funky Jackhammer because you also can’t go wrong with frozen custard, peanut butter, fudge, and brownies.

Tell us what you like to do in your spare time that no one else would know.

Usually if I have a free day or off weekend, I’ll try to go golfing with some friends.

Tell us about your pet(s) if you have any.

My wife Kari and I have a 3-year-old dog named Honey. She’s probably one of the most spoiled dogs I know.

If you weren’t racing what other career would you like to have?

That’s always a hard question because once you’re in racing it’s hard to see yourself anywhere else. I would say I would still work in racing as a spotter or maybe go to school to be an engineer for a team.

What activities do you like to do with your family?

During the summertime, we might go out on the lake with some friends. We’ll also try to go see a Carolina Panthers game.

What’s your favorite way to celebrate a win?

There’s an Andy’s Frozen Custard right down the road from our house, so we’ll try to stop there at the end of the night. Usually, we go home and have a small party with friends to celebrate.
