Andy's Frozen Custard Shop in Bolingbrook is sponsoring the 2009 Bolingbrook Youth Flag Football League, which plays at Central Park in Bolingbrook.
The park, located on Annerino Fields, will have a name change when the young athletes are playing.
Some of the names of the fields will be known as Butter Pecan Concrete Field, Stolen Brown Sundae Field and Hot Fudge Sundae Field.
"We are thrilled to sponsor the Bolingbrook Youth Flag Football League and really wanted to add some fun to our sponsorship," said Andy's owner Andy Kuntz. "By renaming the fields our custard shop favorites, we're sure to bring a smile to the faces of the players and attendees, if only for awhile."
The league consists of three divisions for ages five through 14.
It offers a competitive, minimal contact sport of football without tackling. It teaches area youths the fundamentals of football and athletes play regardless of experience.
Teams compete during regular season games and qualify for a single-elimination playoff tournament.
All players receive a uniform and participation trophy.
The season began in August and ends in late October.
Games are played on Saturday mornings and occasional weeknights under the lights.
